• Established in 1942. Original name - Great Northern Credit Union Association.
  • Formed by employees of the Great Northern Railroad with shares (savings) and loans.
  • January 1971 the GNCU became the BNCU (Burlington Northern Credit Union) when the two railroads merged.
  • In 1989 the name was changed to Bear Paw Credit Union to better reflect the credit union's growing diversity of membership.
  • In May of 1996 we merged with North Montana Federal Credit Union.
  • In October of 1998 we merged with Toole County Federal Credit Union. Our Field of Membership includes - Hill, Blaine, Liberty, Chouteau, Toole, Pondera, and Phillips Counties plus BNSF Employees and their families.
  • The main office located in Havre. Other locations include Chester, Chinook, Shelby & Sunburst
  • Slogan - "We Belong to You."tm
  • We are a not-for-profit cooperative where the member is the owner. Profits are returned to the members in the form of lower rates and higher dividends.
